Animal fats also contain vital nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids, which are necessary for overall health.

In contrast, most plant-based fats can damage cells and cause cancer and heart disease [4] [5] [6]. So, adding animal fats, such as butter, lard and tallow into your diet can promote better health and prevent cognitive decline. However, be cautious as animal fat is calorie dense and may cause weight gain.
